Our Story

Steve first found interest in wine making helping his father with a family dandelion wine recipe passed down through multiple generations, a hobby he continued to experiment with throughout his military career.  As an avid outdoorsman, his interest in land conservation and habitat preservation led him to study the crucial role of honeybees and he eagerly awaited the chance to start his own apiary.

In Kyra's family, meals were times to connect and share an experience starting with sourcing the ingredients. Some of her fondest memories included harvesting in her grandmother's garden and exploring the farmer's market. Obsessed with horses and cooking since before she can remember, she dreamed of the day she would have her own Kentucky farm.

Steve regularly told his fellow Marines that when he retired, he would move to the woods of Kentucky and become a beekeeper. They thought he was kidding but after 21 years he did just that.  Their passions have taken life on a farm in south central Kentucky surrounded by miles of natural woodland and native plants. With an abundance of honey and fresh ingredients from Kyra's garden, Steve made wine!

Our Mission

We specialize in crafting Mead, or “Honey Wine,” from pure honey produced by our own hives and local beekeepers to ensure the highest quality wine from hive to bottle. If we don’t know and trust an ingredient, we won’t use it to make wine, plain and simple.  Mead has lost popularity over the years due to economic influences, but it used to be one of the most common alcoholic beverages in households around the globe! For centuries it was a staple on menus and in traditions just as grape wine is today. We aim to give honey wine a regular place on the table again by providing our customers with a product we are proud to say we drink ourselves.
